The Campaign for Equal Justice is thrilled to announce the addition of veteran fundraiser Natalia Fior to its growing team. Natalia will take over the annual Campaign fundraising activities including the King and Pierce County Law Firm Campaigns and the events and phonathons around the state held in partnership with our grantees. If you’d like to be part of a Beer and Justice event in your community, let us know. Here’s a bit about Natalia in her own words…
-Melinda Mann, Chief Development and Stewardship Officer
“I’ve known since high school I wanted to work in the nonprofit world. Born and raised in the Puget Sound, I am loving my new role as Annual Campaign Director for the Campaign for Equal Justice at the Legal Foundation of Washington. Legal aid programs are vitally important to advancing economic, racial, and social justice, and to breaking cycles of poverty in our communities.
Since 2008, I have been fundraising across Washington state to help nonprofits sustainably carry out missions of social and economic justice. I am proud to have worked for NARAL Pro-Choice Washington and the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance as well as for local candidates seeking political office. For the past three years, I had a great time as a nonprofit fundraising consultant with The Ostara Group in Seattle and learned how to build healthy internal systems and improve efficiency. As a volunteer, I served on the boards of LGBTQ Allyship and the University District Food Bank for 6 years and currently as Co-Chair of our Fight Hunger Build Hope capital campaign for a new food bank facility.
Working with individuals who care about making our world more just and peaceful drives my interest in fundraising. After earning a Master’s Degree in English Literature, and realizing academia was not the place for me, I fell into fundraising because it allowed me to work for causes I am passionate about in an action-oriented way.
When I’m not fundraising, I spend time with my husband and best friend, Justin, and our two big families that live nearby. Justin and I each have two sisters and we love playing with our nieces and nephews. I love to read, write, dance, sing, hike, and talk politics.”
