LFW provides resources to grantee organizations to fulfill their missions of ensuring justice for all.
If you’re interested in applying for a grant, see Current Opportunities. If your organization is currently receiving a grant from LFW, and you would like more information on how to access these resources, please email LFW Grants Coordinator, Arielle Handforth.
Here are a few examples of resources for grantees:
We budget funds for unexpected program expenses such as assisting with a move, tech equipment needs, translation, in-person interpretation, and professional development.
LFW offers telephonic interpretation services on demand in any language for lawyers to communicate with their clients. Last year, our
Cyracom
phone line was used nearly 4,000 times, covering 56 different languages.
We fund an online shared case management system, LegalServer, which allows organizations to seamlessly refer cases and measure progress.
LFW hosts an annual orientation for new pro bono program staff and provides funding for the Pro Bono Council Manager, who supports volunteer lawyer programs across the state.
We support the biannual Washington State Access to Justice Conference, JustLead Washington, and other trainings to build the skills and capacity of staff.
LFW contracts with Sart Rowe, Technology and Innovation Director at Eastside Legal Assistance Program, to provide one-on-one support to Alliance members on technology related issues.
We are always looking to improve our services and welcome feedback on how we can best help programs achieve their goals! Please reach out to our Grants Coordinator Arielle Handforth with ideas.
