Legal aid is a
lifeline in
times of crisis.
For urgent issues of unemployment, domestic violence, and eviction, legal aid attorneys are part of the first line response.
Legal aid helps families access critical safety net benefits, fight an eviction, secure a domestic violence protection order, help immigrants gain asylum, and fight workplace discrimination to provide security and pathway out of poverty.

Unlike criminal cases, the Constitution does not guarantee legal assistance in civil cases.
